Tartine, Antwerp

Collage Tartine - Effect

My girls and I decide to eat lunch together for the last time before the finals. We all wanted to try this place in the city called: Maison Tartine. Their concept is: Breakfast – Brunch – Lunch but mainly ‘des tartines’ (sliced bread in French).

I am generally not a big fan of eating bread ‘solo’, I am more of a warm dishes person, and that is why I took a Tartini Veggie, which is a panini with mozzarella, parmigiano reggiano, pesto, rucola, and pine nuts on two slices of whole wheat cereal bread. Let me tell ya, it was goddamn GOOD, and only ‚ā¨6,00!

All my friends took a ‘Tartine’ and those portions were CRAY CRAY! Two BIG slices of white or whole wheat bread filled with yummie ingredients. I tasted one of my friends ‘Tartine’ and it was extremely good. All ingredients were perfectly balanced. My next order will definitely be the ‘Tartine Maison’. ūüėČ

Tartini Veggie - Tartine

After such a meal we could not eat desert anymore so we did not try the¬†cakes they had, which are standard: cheesecake, apple crumble and chocolate cake. But I finished it off with a cha√Į latte, which was in my opinion not as good as some other places I have tried, but much better than the watery Starbucks one (and cheaper, only ‚ā¨3,50).

Conclusion: I would not come back for the cha√Į latte, but definitely for the tartines. ūüėČ

PS: The owners of Tartine will open a new Restaurant across the street named: Gojo Ethiopian Resto-Bar. I am curious! ūüôā

Culture Coffee & Donuts, Antwerp

Listen, a¬†girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do! I might want to lose weight, but that does not mean, I do not feel emotional when I see cake and coffee.

A week ago I saw a friend of mine liking a page on Facebook called: Culture Coffee. When I see the word ‘Coffee’ my brain, eyes, and body start to mingle and I do not know what to do anymore, but thinking about COFFEE! I asked her if she had tried this place and she did, and we decided to pay this place a little visit. Because, after visiting their Facebook page and seeing all this yumminess I did not want to wait any longer.

Basically, this place sells donuts, in any flavor you can possibly imagine, with some cakes, muffins and of course COFFEE! Last Tuesday we finally paid a visit to this place in between two classes, and I loved it! It is huge and has a lot of tables and couches, which I like. My friends and I sat down on a huge wooden table and order some drinks, cake, a wrap and a donut.

I ordered a hazelnut flavored latte and a Red Velvet bar. When I saw a picture of their cheesecake on Facebook I wanted to try that because cheesecake is my favorite, unfortunately, that day the cheesecake was nowhere to be found (#SadFace). So, I took the Red Velvet cake with a cream cheese frosting and it was DELICIOUS! The hazelnut flavored latte was delicious too (not like the Starbucks lattes with an overdose of syrup), just on top!

If you are in Antwerp, live in Antwerp and want to try a new coffee bar with a great variety in donuts, cakes, and sandwiches, you should definitely try Culture Coffee & Donuts.
