Knock Off: Urban Decay – Naked Flushed

Naked Flushed I

Good Day to you Beauty! Last review of the Urban Decay Knock offs I got on Aliexpress.com. I have had this one for a very long time, now. I love this palette, but not because of every product in this palette.

Naked Fluhed II

The first thing on the left is a bronzer, it is positive and negative at the same time. Why? It’s positive because it’s not extremely dark, it is negative because the product won’t come off easily. I have to rub the brush onto the product for at least 10 seconds to set an ounce of visible product onto my skin. Basically, the bronzer is very hard and dry. The second product, in the middle, is a highlighter. I don’t know what happened here, but this highlighter is very crumbly, just like the eyeshadows of the Naked palettes. The highlight itself is very subtle, though. Then, the last product on the right side is a blush. I love the color of this blush! Unfortunately, the blush itself is just like the bronzer, very hard and dry (visible on the picture). I need lots of rubbing with my brush to get some blush on my cheeks. But the result is beautiful!

Naked Flushed III

Once more, pure rubbish written on the back of the palette. All by all, I am curious to buy the real deal to see if they are better in quality. If they are, this could become my ultimate favorite palette as it is very handy to have 3 in 1 and I’m in love with the blush anyway.

I hope you enjoyed this short review, let me know what you think of the Naked Flushed in the comments down below.

Until Next Time,

Knock Off: Urban Decay – Naked 3

Naked 3 IHi, my loves! And Naked 3 it is! Am I the only one loving the ribbles on the packaging of the Naked 3 palette AND the color of the palette itself? Loving the ribbles, hating the plasticky packaging, though. Naked 3 IINaked 2 III

Okay, I have to be honest with you; I do not have a favorite in this palette and I’m not sure what to think about it. I’m not a fan of the highlight colors available in this palette and I don’t seem to understand what’s so Naked about this palette? I found this palette to be more of a pink palette than a nude palette. At first I was totally obsessed with nudish shimmery pink colors, now I am totally not into it anymore. I appreciate the fact that there are non-shimmery colors: Strange, Limit and Nooner. Nooner might become a favorite sooner or later, as this is the only color I like next to Darkside (maybe, maybe, Blackheart too, really, maybe!). I won’t complain again about the quality of the eyeshadows: crumbly again, the quality on the eye = very good.

Naked 3 IIII

Once more, total rubbish on the back of the palette! They need a proper translator ASAP. But as I said, for €5,00 each, I wouldn’t complain if it wasn’t for the sake of this review.

I hope you enjoyed this short review of the knock off of the Naked 3 palette by Urban Decay. I still have Naked Flushed to review for you (I have had this one for a very long time now). If you are curious to see the review on the Naked Flushed by Urban Decay, stay tuned until next Monday.

Until Next Time,

Knock Off: Urban Decay – Naked 2

Naked 2 I

Hi gorgeous! Here I am again, with another review of the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette! First of all I have a favorite eyeshadow in this palette, the color: Verve. I love, love, love this eyeshadow so much! Secondly, as the knock off of the Naked 1 palette, the shadows are a bit crumbly, very shimmery (If you like a lot of shimmer you will be okay with that), but the shadows are good in quality once applied to my eyelids.

Naked 2 IIII

Apart from the eyeshadows, who are great in quality, but crumbly, the packaging is something I cannot live with. First of all: everything is pure plastic and looks cheap, second of all the ‘mirror’, well the mirror is not a mirror, you cannot see through the supposed-to-be-a-mirror thing, this is disgusting! The brush is good at applying, though, but still plasticky and cheap in quality.

Naked 2 IINaked 2 III

Although, I have a favorite eyeshadow color, called: Verve, the rest of the colors aren’t really exciting. This shouldn’t be a big difference with the real Naked 2 palette. These are personally not colors I would wear and I figured out, once I apply Verve, I grab another palette to finish up the look. Basically, if Urban Decay would sell Verve apart from the palette, I would definitely buy the eyeshadow, but I wouldn’t buy the real Naked 2 palette.

Naked 2 V

This time I don’t see any big mistakes made on the back of the palette.

I hope you enjoyed my review on this palette. I still have Naked 3 and Naked Flushed to review and you will be able to see these reviews very soon, on my blog. Comment down below what your thoughts are on the knock offs and the real ones.

Until Next Time,

Knock Off: Urban Decay – Naked

Naked 1 - Front

Hi, lovelies! Not so long ago I have been shopping like crazy! One of the things I have discovered were the Naked palettes on Aliexpress.com. Obviously, I know they aren’t real, but I was curious to know how well they were made.

First of all, I bought the 3 Naked palettes for about €15,00. Aliexpress is one of my favorite online shops and I was curious to discover how the Naked palettes were, as I have never had any real Naked palette. As you can see on the picture, the form of the palette looks exactly like the real deal, although I have heard the knock offs are a little lighter in color than the original one.

Naked 1 - First 6Naked 1 - Part II

The shades look exactly (or almost, barely visible with the naked eye ;)) like the original; the only difference I see is that these are very crumbly, and when you swatch them, the intensity is not very good. But, once you apply it on your eyelids (with an eye shadow base) it looks beautiful. The packaging looks terrible to me, the chances are high that the shadows will come off anytime soon; the letters are fading too.

The last thing that differs from the original Naked palette is the back. If you look and read closely, you will see that what is written, is pure b*llshit. Words are missing, letters are forgotten, and it says that with this palette you get an eye pencil while I got an eyeshadow brush.

Naked I - Back

Conclusion, if you aren’t planning on having the real deal because let’s face it, it is expensive, then, go ahead and buy this palette. The eyeshadows itself are great, the packaging is not. But on the other hand, €5,00 for a palette is inexpensive and worth the try. I still want the real deal, though,  now that I have tried a knock off.

Are you curious to see what else I got? Stay tuned for my next shoplog and if you are interested in knowing if the Naked 2, Naked 3 and Naked Flushed are as bad or good as the Naked 1 palette? Stay tuned, and I will gladly make an article for each palette.

Until Next Time,

Plog 1: Weekend in Calais, France

Hi, Guys! I am in Calais for the weekend, where I stay at my aunt’s house. I needed a break from daily life and I found this to be the perfect opportunity to blow some air! Here are some pictures of this weekend:

Le Tunisien - Plage de Calais 2Hotspot of the city: Le Tunisien, a food truck at the beach of Calais where you can eat the famous Tunisian sandwich (Tuna, Israeli salad type of salad, and lots of harissa (if you can handle it ;-)). This place has been in Calais since 1968 and is famous for its typical Maghrebian donuts called Sfenj (must try!!!). Unfortunately, they only make the donuts from 3 PM on and even though the guy was that friendly to invite us for free donuts, we had no time to wait up to taste them, as it was only 2 PM.

Glaces Carrefour 2When I am in France, one of the first things I do is shopping in a supermarket. I have a shoplog coming up, so you will see what I have bought, but two things that I will not be able to show you, because, let’s be honest, these babies will be K.O. by the time I film the shoplog, is: ICE CREAM! I bought this delicious pint of Daim and a pint of Haägen Dazs: Macadamia Nut Brittle. Other pints of ice cream I found was Ben & Jerry’s Speculoos and Ben & Jerry’s Peanut Butter. I truly wanted them all, but let’s face it, I cannot bring them back home and cannot eat them all in one weekend.

Look & MakeUp Calais The look I had this weekend is unfortunately barely visible on this picture, but I have found some new favorites in my makeup stash: Garnier Ambre Solaire BB Cream, Rimmel Natural Bronzer, Catrice – Papagena Absolute Eye Colour Quattro (Limited Edition), Dark lips (not on this picture). The jewelry I am wearing this weekend and is definitely one of my favorites too are my two evil eye bracelets I got this week, one has no brand and I got it on Aliexpress and the other is from Juicy Couture.

I hope you liked my plog from this weekend. I did not do that much else than eating out all-you-can-eat Chinese and eating Paëlla at my aunt’s home, ice cream and some more ice cream and croissants and baguette, went to the mall (Cité Europe, Calais), and visit my grandmother.

Until Next Time,

Tartine, Antwerp

Collage Tartine - Effect

My girls and I decide to eat lunch together for the last time before the finals. We all wanted to try this place in the city called: Maison Tartine. Their concept is: Breakfast – Brunch – Lunch but mainly ‘des tartines’ (sliced bread in French).

I am generally not a big fan of eating bread ‘solo’, I am more of a warm dishes person, and that is why I took a Tartini Veggie, which is a panini with mozzarella, parmigiano reggiano, pesto, rucola, and pine nuts on two slices of whole wheat cereal bread. Let me tell ya, it was goddamn GOOD, and only €6,00!

All my friends took a ‘Tartine’ and those portions were CRAY CRAY! Two BIG slices of white or whole wheat bread filled with yummie ingredients. I tasted one of my friends ‘Tartine’ and it was extremely good. All ingredients were perfectly balanced. My next order will definitely be the ‘Tartine Maison’. 😉

Tartini Veggie - Tartine

After such a meal we could not eat desert anymore so we did not try the cakes they had, which are standard: cheesecake, apple crumble and chocolate cake. But I finished it off with a chaï latte, which was in my opinion not as good as some other places I have tried, but much better than the watery Starbucks one (and cheaper, only €3,50).

Chaï Latte - Tartine

Conclusion: I would not come back for the chaï latte, but definitely for the tartines. 😉

PS: The owners of Tartine will open a new Restaurant across the street named: Gojo Ethiopian Resto-Bar. I am curious! 🙂

The benefits of water during the exams (and all times!)

I have been reading a lot of articles these last couple of days, about how I should improve my entire exam period, health wise. I came across an article in a Belgian newspaper about the effects of water on our body/health. As it is in Dutch, some of you will not understand a single word of it, and that is why I am going to recapitulate the entire article for you, because first of all water is quite important in your life AND during the exams, second of all I like to analyse things and try them out for you, for me, for everybody.

Basically, our body consist of 60 to 70% of water and we sweat, breath and urinate moisture, which we need to compensate with enough of our fluid intake. The amount of water we should drink depends on a couple of factors: how active we are; our health; where we live, and what we drink in a day.

A study has shown that in a normal situation, the adult human being needs to drink around 2,5 liters of water per day to keep the water balance in place. This includes our food intake. But, in our Western European climate we only need 1,5 liters of water per day.

When I say water, I mean any liquid but when you drink a glass of water versus a glass of Coke, coffee, tea, etc. it will not have the same effect on you. Coffee and tea are slightly diuretic, which results in the need to compensate much more while water is pure hydration/fuel for your body. Alcohol is the most diuretic of them all, so you will need even more water to compensate that.

Anyways, I think you get it. A well-hydrated body is healthy and has a better connection to your brain because water fuels the body AND the brain. It helps you function much better because when you are dehydrated you are energyless which results little concentration on whatever you do. Furthermore, as I want to lose weight during my finals, what the article mentioned as well is the more you drink, the more it gives your body the opportunity to burn fat, and is this not what we all want? The other option is to drink two glasses of water before any meal. This creates the illusion of being full and results in eating less, and re-results in losing weight = WIN-WIN!

One last and important point is that the brain shrinks when we work out for at least 90 minutes without hydrating ourselves. This is not what we want, right? We need our brain during the exams, so ladies and gentlemen, drink water whenever you can!

After knowing this all, we will be able to hydrate ourselves well during the entire period of finals. Now, what am I going to do? I am going to try the two glasses of water before any meal; drink as much water during my workout, and watch my “anything-else-but-water” consumption and compensate it with an extra water intake.

I decided to vlog the entire period during finals. Hopefully, you will like it, as much as I am excited to film everything. You will be able to follow me on my water intake this way. I am the kind of person who could forget to drink water once in a while because I am next to never thirsty. So, don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel and get my videos from the moment they are up. 😉

Until Next Time,
